August Letter

Dear Stukey Families,

Can you believe that we have already started September? We have created our new code of conduct phrase and our new mission statement. Our code of conduct phrase is “Every Scholar, Every Day”. Our new mission statement is “At Stukey Elementary, we work with our community to create a caring environment that empowers scholars to persevere and succeed in life.”
Our Assessment Day on September 4th was a success! Your teachers will be sharing the data with you soon or at our upcoming conferences. We are very eager to meet with families during conferences in October to help strengthen the home/school connection and build a partnership between teachers and parents. Be sure to check your child’s classroom website next month for links to sign up for Fall Conferences held on October 11th.
I’d like to take a moment to clarify some details around school safety and communication at Stukey. Please read the following notes and let us know if you should have any questions.
Morning Arrival and Supervision: Our first bell will ring at 7:25, and the tardy bell rings at 7:35. All students should enter the building from their outside classroom door. Breakfast will be served. Instruction will begin promptly at 7:45, so it is important that our scholars arrive to school on time and ready to learn. Staff will be positioned on our campus to provide supervision in the mornings between 7:25-7:35. There is no supervision prior to 7:25. Please be sure that kids are monitored on the grass areas in front and back of the school. We often see scholars running and tackling on the grass prior to 7:25. Please remind them that school rules still apply prior to 7:25.
Animals on Campus: We know that pets are part of our families and are well loved! However, animals are not permitted on school grounds. For the safety of all our students please leave your furry friends at home and do not bring them on campus.
Thank you for sending us your amazing children! We want you to feel confident about sending your child to Stukey, and encourage you to visit, volunteer, or give us a call or email any time. Please feel free to email me with any questions, concerns, celebrations or compliments at deborah.m.voelker@adams12.org or call 720-972-5423. We look forward to partnering with you to provide the best school experience for your child!

Warm Regards,
Deborah Voelker
