Gifted & Talented Program Offerings
Advanced Curriculum & Extended Learning: “The Vehicle”
Provides the depth and complexity needed to ensure meaningful academic growth
Our school offerings include:
Stukey offers a variety of ways to engage scholars in our GT program throught the day at the level they need. This includes individualized instruction in ST Math, differentiated reading groups, enrichment activities in our math program, pull out groups for enrichment, problem based learning, or long term projects. Our GT program has recently purchased some coding bots that can be used by our scholars and our library has started a genius corner to encourage students to expand their knowledge through a variety of pathways.
Differentiated Learning Pathways: “The Roadmap”
Provides an education at the appropriate level of readiness and challenge
Our school offerings include:
At Stukey Elementary, we provide differentiation in the classroom throughout our curriculum as well as offer an after school club called Ambassadors. This club gives students an opportunity to meet once a month to brainstorm and implement ideas on how to help the Stukey community as well as our neighborhood community. In previous years the Ambassadors have started a fundraiser to raise money for our buddy bench, washed windows, helped around the school, and participated in several school wide events. In our neighborhood and community, Ambassadors have participated in the Northglenn Bike Giveaway, volunteered at the Colorado History Museum, and participated in the Highline Canal Clean Up. They even had an opportunity to visit MSU last year for a field trip. Keep an eye out for this program and all of the amazing things they are doing!
Individualized Opportunities & Enrichment: “The Customized Options”
Actively engages and motivates through interests and meaningful learning opportunities
Our school offerings include:
As an elementary school that values all learners, our staff takes a deep dive into our assessments to determine scholars’ strengths and needs. Each grade level meets for data meetings once a week to analyze data and look at next steps in our instruction. In this work specifically, we have identified what skills need to b3 focused on for scholars in our Gifted and Talented program as well as scholars in the Talent Pool. This work at our school supports the District path to knowing each child by their name, strength, and need.
Social-Emotional Learning: “The Destination”
Focuses on developing the whole child by balancing empowerment and accountability
Our school offerings include:
Our staff at Stukey are incredibly dedicated to student success. Our staff strives to create a community in which all students feel safe, valued, heard, and cared for. Once a week, educators teach a 2nd step lesson that focuses on social and emotional learning. These lessons are connected to the classroom and things learned are practiced throughout the school day. Each classroom teaches and utilizes the Wheel of Choice, a calm down area, restorative practices, and zones of regulation. Our amazing SELs allow students an opportunity to participate in lunch bunches which focus on specific social and emotional skills. Staff members at Stukey see the value in supporting students in all levels of learning.
