Kindergarten

My name is Mrs. Esa. I was born and have grown up in Colorado. I knew from a young age that I wanted to be a teacher and got my degree at Metropolitan State College. I have also recently finished my masters at CU. I have taught for 18 years with the last 8 being here at Stukey. I have 2 children and we love sports, going camping, and playing with our black lab! I love being on the soccer field, in the mountains, or in our backyard playing outside with my family. I am excited to teach at Stukey so that I can help kids fall in love with learning while helping them be successful in their learning!

I have been an educator since 2013, and I am proud to have spent all but one of those years at Stukey Elementary. Kindergarten is a special place to be, and I love watching students come to school each day excited to learn, explore, and discover something new.

I believe that kindergarteners can do hard things! My goal is to create a classroom where every child feels loved, supported, and encouraged to take on challenges. I believe in celebrating each child's unique strengths while helping them grow academically, socially, and emotionally. I want my students to know that I will always be in their corner—cheering them on, supporting them through challenges, and helping them reach their goals.

I hold a master's degree from the University of Colorado in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education. I am passionate about creating an inclusive classroom where every child and family feels valued, respected, and welcomed.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family. I am a mom of three and a proud grandmother to one granddaughter. Our family also includes three dogs and a cat! When I am not in the classroom, you can often find me gardening, spending time with my family, or enjoying the little moments that make life special.

I feel incredibly lucky to be part of the Stukey community and look forward to making kindergarten a year filled with learning, growth, laughter, and lots of “I can do hard things!” moments.
