Community members feel engaged at Books and Breakfast

The Books and Breakfast event at Stukey Elementary is a vibrant family engagement practice that is designed to bring families into the classroom and foster a love for reading among students. Parents and caregivers were invited to join their children in an engaging morning where they read books aloud to classrooms while sharing a meal together. The event combined the comforting routine of breakfast with the educational benefits of storytelling, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all participants.

This high-impact family engagement strategy strengthens the connection between home and school by involving families directly in an educational activity. It not only promotes literacy and a sense of community but also highlights the important role families play in supporting their children’s learning journey.
