It is with great pride and excitement that start my second year as Assistant Principal of Stukey Elementary School. I am honored to be in this position and am looking forward to assisting Mrs. Voelker in making this a great school year.
I have held various educational roles aimed at increasing student achievement and promoting teacher collaboration and growth over the last 19 years. My career began as a K-5 Spanish Teacher in Colorado Springs for 5 years and eventually I moved to Denver where I taught 2nd grade in Commerce City for 5 years. After teaching for 10 years, I began my journey as a leader in the role of Teacher Effectiveness Coach in Denver Public Schools (DPS) for 5 years and lastly as Dean of Instruction for Mathematics in DPS.
I believe my role as a leader is to support teachers, put students at the forefront of all decisions, empower parents, and engage all stakeholders in the success of our students. I believe in open communication and a strong home to school connection. Please feel free to contact me with any celebrations or concerns you may have.
On a personal note, my husband Jeff and I have 6-year-old boy/girl twins who will be in First Grade this year. I understand the role as a parent the excitement of a new school year can bring for all family members.
I look forward to a year filled with stories of great success and great learning.
