Hello there! My name is Monica Torres and this will be my tenth year teaching in the Adams 12 School District. I began my teaching career at Rocky Mountain Elementary teaching first grade. I then taught third and second grade, both at Coronado Hills Elementary. Now, I am in my sixth year teaching Special Education and am very excited to be a part of the Stukey community. I recently completed my Masters in Special Education from the University of Colorado; Denver and I am enjoying my role as a Special Education teacher as I have the wonderful experience of being able to work with students in grades K-5 in every subject level. I enjoy spending time reading, playing sports and spending time with friends and family. I am truly looking forward to a wonderful school year!
Remote Learning Update:
Hi Stukey Scholars and Families!
As we begin a new adventure of remote learning, please know that I am happy to help with questions and support!
Monday-Friday: 9:30-10:30 and 2:30-3:30
Please reach out with any questions at any time via email, dojo and phone 720-924-9012, as well. If you happen to call outside of my office hours, I will respond within one business day.
Grading and Attendance:
Work will be posted weekly, on Mondays. We ask that all assigned work is completed by the end of the week.
Your child’s general education classroom teacher will be taking attendance. As a special education team, we will be checking in to ensure that work is being completed from general education and special education teams. For students who receive math grades from the special education team, grades will be given on a pass/fail basis, based on work completion. 80% of work must be completed weekly to receive a passing math grade. All other grades will be given by the general education teacher and you should refer to their grading policies for remote learning.
Please stay safe during this time,
